Green by Design tells you the story of our construction. Ours is an intelligent design. The details, facts, and figures provide a background on the actual building of the Hilton Orlando and what key elements make it an environmentally responsible construction project. The Convene Green Alliance looks to provides comprehensive information and support to associations seeking to create green policies and reduce the environmental footprints of their organizations and events. The Green Destinations Orlando (GDO) program is a bold plan to make Orlando the greatest green destination in the world by creating a “total sustainable experience” from the moment a visitor steps off the plane in Orlando, to transportation to their hotel, their stay at local lodging, daily activities (be it a conference or family vacation), and back to the airport, a completely sustainable loop that never breaks. Through a partnership with Waste Management, GDO participants are projected to divert more than 1,400 tons of single-stream recyclables and food waste from area landfills. The U.S. Green Building Council Central Florida Chapter’s Green Destination Orlando program is a first-of-a-kind sustainability platform that’s changing the way travelers, businesses, and industries see the travel and tourism industry.
